Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning and Oscar-nominated actress, singer, songwriter and producer Cynthia Erivo will be honored with the Schrader Award. A global sensation and proud queerwoman, Erivo will be recognized for her stellar achievements in entertainment and activism championing the LGBTQ+ community.

Mickalene Thomas, considered one of the most influential visual artists of our time, will be honored with this year’s Vanguard Award. ​​Thomas is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist whose work has yielded widely celebrated aesthetic languages within contemporary visual culture. An out lesbian, she’s recognized for her advocacy and commitment to intersecting complexities of Black and female identity within the Western canon.

MUNA is comprised of Katie Gavin (she/they), Naomi McPherson (they/them), and Josette Maskin (she/they). Their latest self-titled third album features the hit song “Silk Chiffon” featuring Phoebe Bridgers. The band has spent the last two years playing sold out shows all over the world, as well as supporting Taylor Swift on her Eras stadium tour. Their hit podcast Gayotic just kicked off its third season, with the premiere episode featuring drag icon Trixie Mattel.

Joel Kim Booster is a Chicago-bred Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. He is best known for writing and starring in Searchlight Pictures’ Fire Island which, following its June 2022 release, went on to land him two Emmy nominations along with a “Best First Screenplay” nom at the Independent Spirit Awards. The multi-hyphenate has also been seen starring opposite Maya Rudolph in the Apple TV+ comedy series Loot, with its second season premiering April 3rd. His first hour-long comedy special, Joel Kim Booster: Psychosexual, exploring his experiences and observations as a gay Asian American male with commentary on identity, sexuality, cultural expectations, and more, debuted on Netflix in 2022. The special was nominated for a Critics Choice Award and named one of the best comedy specials of 2022 by Variety. He also appears in Freeform’s “Chrissy & Dave Dine Out,” which follows Chrissy Teigen and David Chang, who, along with Joel, crack the restaurant scene wide open in Los Angeles.
